Hi there, folks! Long time no see! I am contemplating publishing another story soon. It kind of falls into the mystery / romance category, but then again it's not your usual kind of mystery/romantic stories where you have a handsome and brave hero. On the contrary, it's about two elderly sick men.
The title of my tale is "When Yesterday Calls". This is a story of two old men who are the best of friends. One is a despondent ex-rock star and the other a retired Special Forces officer suffering from dementia. They make a spur-of-the-moment decision to experience the timeless glamor of the 1920s by riding the iconic Orient Express train before it is too late. During the journey, they inadvertently fall down a rabbit hole filled with mystery, suspense and danger. In the process, they manage to heal each other and ultimately find joy in life. The tale has its fair share of misty-eyed and comedic moments as the two protagonists, already saddled with self-doubts and inner conflicts themselves, try to keep one step ahead of disaster.
I wonder if anyone here would like to read this kind of tale. Please let me know. If I get enough response, I will publish this story which, by the way, is dedicated to my late father who died of dementia complications a few years ago. It took me many painful years to finish this story. And thank you for reading this.
