Oh summer, where have you gone?
I miss the days of laying under the sun,
Sleeping in till noon,
Camping under the stars,
Shining so bright.
Oh summer, where have you gone?
Now school has begun.
Homework in a hospital is boring,
They tell me I have to stay caught up or I'll be so far behind,
I guess my mind is glad of the distraction,
From the needles that poke,
And the IV's stabbed into me.
And the disease that is killing me from the inside out.
Oh summer, where have you gone?
I miss the carefree days spent at the beach,
Wading into the ocean,
With the squeaking seagulls overhead,
And an ice cream cone in hand,
Oh summer, where have you gone?
