One of my favorite tropes in writing is when a group of diverse, misfit characters-who probably hate each other's guts-are forced to work together, and even live together. Over the course of, God knows how many chapters, they slowly get to know and understand one another. My Naruto fanfiction and my story Children of Eden are both examples of this. Teen Titans, Young Justice, and X-Men are all classic examples of this trope, and I just love seeing it in action.

But on top of that, I really enjoy hardship. I want characters to suffer, sometimes in the worst ways imaginable, carefully refining them and building them into the hero-or sometimes the villain-that they were always meant to be. I also love seeing the compassion that comes from suffering: the empathy and what it truly means to care for another person. A good example of this is the web novel/anime Re:Zero.
