hi everyone. today is trans day of remembrance, and if youve stumbled upon this announcement, i want you to join me in remembering our fellow trans people that weve lost due to violence, hatred, and a world that sometimes feels like its made against us. today, we honour the names, stories, joy, dreams, and potential beautiful futures our trans comrades shouldve had.
today is a hard day, and i understand it may bring up bad memories for some of you, but i hope this can be a space where were all here for each other, especially today.
the trans community centre discord server says it best, "to every trans, non-binary, gender-diverse and questioning reader: your life is precious. your identity is sacred. your existence is a rebellion, a miracle, and a gift. you deserve safety, happiness, love, and the chance to grow old surrounded by people who cherish you."
"we survive because we have each other. we heal because we are not alone. we honour them by continuing forward - not quietly, not apologetically, but fiercely and beautifully ourselves."
"to those weve lost: we carry you, we remember you, we will keep fighting for a world worthy of your memory."
"their echoes guide us, and our voices carry them onward."
thank you all for reading this, and to any of my fellow trans people, i love you all from the bottom of my heart. you all inspire me so much by moving forward despite all the challenges we face from day-to-day. keep going everyone, you deserve all the safety and love in the world. <3
