Born in New England, I was raised by the sea.  My father, a fisherman, drowned when I was twelve.  My mother, a native of eastern Europe, returned home soon after, leaving me in the care of my paternal grandparents.

At twenty, I dropped out of college to tramp across the country.

I am currently employed as a carpenter at the Metropolitan Opera.
