For The Legend:
I used ASP's creation as a jumping off point & added in a ton of my own personal experiences to make the story so real & believable. I also incorporated a lot of what Tanc Sade seems to be like in real life - or at least his portrayal on Facebook, to develop Finn's character more deeply, since we don't have much information to go on for him. I have not, nor will I be giving him a last name, and I probably won't tell specifically what he does for work, either, since we have no idea.
For The Aftermath:
I tried to stay as true as possible to ASP's portrayal of each character in the series & the revival to make their actions believable in the story. I haven't elaborated much, unless I thought it was a good fit for what she's already created.

Being realistic in my story-telling is one of my top priorities. It's extremely important to me that each of the stories seem believable, otherwise I'm failing at what I'm trying to accomplish.
Something else important to me is that I keep in mind that while I may put a "mature" rating on the story, that any aged person could read it, and I want it to appeal to a 13yrs old as much as a 30yr old or 60yr old. I write with the respect of my readers in mind. I don't write anything I would be embarrassed to have my children, my 15yr old niece or my grandmother read, because my gma was actually reading The Aftermath for a while.
It's just important for me to be realistic & wholesome, just like the series would want me to try to be.
