It's just something so amazing about creating your own world and sharing it; how the imagination can be so tangible; the innocent pleasure of being your own god. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, I realized at a young age, through my first discovered talent of being able to draw,  how incredible it felt to create. To have a vision inside of my mind and watch me bring it alive onto paper and then show my family members and watch their facial expressions light up with glee followed by their words of delight and encouragement was an instant addiction; hence, years later, I found myself in art school; something I strived for.  And there, at Washington Irving High School, I discovered my second talent with the help of my 9th grade English teacher's kind and motivational words. "You're very good at writing and have great potential," she said. But being so happily wrapped up in my artwork, plus being such a terrible speller, who would have thought? It took year after year after year of excellent English grades for me to finally say, "Hmmm, maybe my old English teacher was onto something." So at age 21, I wrote my first book. That level of creation was just as incredible, if not more so, as drawing. It was so thrilling having the destiny of a character in my mind and control, but even more thrilling when a character's destiny seem to write itself; giving me little control. My excitement climbing with each new sentence, like an outer body experience, like I'm not the one writing the book. Those bizarre and exciting moments when it seems like the book is exactly writing itself. Now how amazing is that? Then to be able to share what was an idea inside your mind with someone else, to me, that's a phenomenon.
