          I live in an area where it rarely snows. But today, we had a little bit of snow!

          I had dinner at a "Famiresu" today. In Japan, we call family-friendly casual dining restaurants "Famiresu" for short. I wonder if there are similar places overseas?

          Dinner tonight was Sara Udon! It’s a local specialty from Nagasaki featuring crispy noodles with a savory thick sauce. Believe it or not, it’s super easy to whip up using a store-bought soup base.

          Visited a friend today and played with her cat!  My cat allergy is making my nose itchy, but I’m so happy. It was worth it!

          The Japanese archipelago is currently in the grip of a cold wave. Even the warm city of Osaka is cold. I'm shivering as I write this in a cold room. I'm surviving on hot green tea and a blanket. :'(

          I went to Kyoto today, but it wasn’t for sightseeing. It’s a two-hour drive from where I live. To me, Kyoto is not just a tourist spot—it’s a place where everyday life happens.
