We put down my childhood dog yesterday so I'm taking a break from my most prevalent social media to let myself heal. This could either result in me posting so much shit here or you won't hear from me for weeks. Either way, my uploading is gonna be weird for a bit
So basically my English teacher is an abelist prick and here's my evidence since I can't write anything good after what she told me so heres this to fill the time:
- she refused to turn subtitles on and claimed "I don't need them anyway" when watching a movie the other day
- constantly mumbles and when I ask her to speak up she gets offended
- the other day she called me up for a tiebreaker for a game where she called out a letter and we had to respond with a movie starting with that letter and I asked everyone to be quiet so I could hear the letter but she spoke quietly so I couldn't hear and told me to "listen up" when I told her I didn't even hear the letter so I couldn't have even tried
- tells me "not to stare" when I try to lip read her
And probably more because I have bad memory
@ Atlas_Sighss Agree, thank goodness that at least something has begun to move! Now he has to think twice before being an Asshole! These people don't deserve to be teachers when they don't even have love for their neighbor! Especially for their pupils! In Italy such a thing would never have been tolerated!
@SimyBuffardi unfortunately the school year just ended so I cannot do anything further, but my mum phoned a Dean and they plan to have a staff meeting about "being more inclusive" but my teacher won't be facing any reprocussions aside from maybe an off handed word. I suspect she will be my teacher again next year though as I will be in a high band English class so if she does it again we'll phone the principal directly
@ Atlas_Sighss Then it cannot continue like this! This is bullying and abuse of power! Or everything is solved by hook or by crook! Let's use Diplomacy first I suggest you talk to your parents first then go to your doctor and print the medical certificates of your hearing problem! When you can bring the certificates to your teacher and tell him that he is obliged to put subtitles! That the film should not be seen only by him! And it must adapt to your condition! If he continues to be an Asshole again you will be forced to go to the Headmaster and tell everything!
My English teacher is so horrible she amounted my entire class (including me) to be worse than year 9s who only studied for one day for our Unfamiliar text test and said we were basically all horrible at writing and that we're all gonna do badly in an English A class. She also told me that "subtitles distract her" when I asked to put them on for a movie I was really looking forward to because I'm deaf and my class speaks over stuff so I can't concentrate on listening. Then she told me she wasn't going to adjust my achieved grade to a merit because she asked how we enterprited a text and it was different from hers.
So basically she has made me feel like I'm horrible at writing witch is something I'm really passionate about so I'm losing motivation to write because I think it's gonna turn out horrible
@ Smoozy_Sighs Of course ... You are easily influenced by a single person who thinks your writing is not good just because he is a teacher when many people have said otherwise including me! So does that mean that the teacher's opinion is worth more than ours? It's not right! You're only fifteen and you can always get better! Criticism is used to make you grow not to break you down! In life you will meet many people who will criticize you, some will do it just out of meanness, others instead to encourage you to improve yourself because they love you! You just have to learn to recognize! So no you never give up, treasure the advice because it is not true that you are not capable you have a great talent! Fuck, I'm twenty-seven and I can only write the shopping list.
About the behavior of your teacher if you find it unfair to you, talk to someone!
I'm happy that you vented you don't always have to keep everything inside, I'm always there for advice!
OK, I might start 'I'm coming home' again, but it won't be for a little while.
Remember that I am a 15-year-old kid currently going through exams and I want to relax as well as write, so the opportunity to write is slim unless I am home or in two of my classes (both of which i shouldn't even be writing in). I'm also going through personal stuff atm so the opportunity to finish I'm coming home is small, although I really am grateful for all the positive feedback I have gotten from the story so far!
Remember, I will probably upload another chapter or two, but I may not finish it. These chapters that I pick back up will be rushed and kinda sloppy compared to the standard of the rest of the story, and I'm really sorry about that.
I hope you will all see an update soon.
@Smoozy_Sighs Thanks for all the effort you are putting into it! And don't worry your personal life is more important! If you have to do things against your will they will never be good! So do not worry, write when I would have found the desire, the Passion, the love and the time to do it and you will see that a wonderful story will come out! ❤️
I MIGHT start working on 'I'm coming home' again if It can reach 10K votes, but the story will be changed a tad (I actually enjoyed rereading it so I might try to hack at it again)
