I'm thinking about dipping my toes into writing my own Eragon fanfiction and I'm kind of nervous. Any advice?
My idea is to write way into the future which allows me some freedoms while attempting to allign myself to canon as much as possible, I also fear that something will go amiss because there's only so much lore information available.
I'm also nervous to write something that has been said a thousand times haha. I couldn't find any Eragon Fanfiction rants which was something I'd read for my Harry Potter fanfiction.
Not that I think there's a set of rules to fanfiction and people can't write whatever they want, but I also want to strive for excellence. Thank you for your time! Also, loved your first chaptet I can't wait to keep reading :)

@AtticusAreola Thank you! Hearing that has inspired me some more. I've had this idea hovering in the back of my mind for quite a while. I did notice there just aren't a lot of Ergagon, or Inheritance cycle fanfictions even across other platforms like Fanfiction .net. That might change if the Eragon reboot does well (here's hoping). After reading Murtagh there are answers to some lore questions, but even bigger questions left behind. It makes it hard for me to device a plot. I figure I need to go outside of what was left behind. I know I'll love it to some degree, but plot ideas are so hard for me. Especially because my intent for this character is to be so unwilling to get involved with plots, poor thing I'm totally going to throw them at her like a raving mad dragon. And thank you! I'd love to share it with you! Also I caught up to your most recent chapter. I'm so curious to find out what happens going further, like after the battle of Tronjiem, if you're including that. The way you write you really made it your own, while also keeping the original characters themselves. It's a great read and I'm excited to read more :)

@PhoenixVengence Honestly, I think you should write for you, not everyone else. In terms of fanfiction, Eragon isn't actually that big of a fandom for writing - don't get me wrong, there are some gems out there. I love the 'luminescence' series with Mal as the MC. The lore is a little sparse in some places, but that means you can get creative and really have fun with it. Add something cool and new - or something small that you think the OG story really needed. But if you really want to write it and you're passionate about the story you're writing, it shows and I think that's more important than any plot, or any storyline tbh ☺️ Paolini started writing it as a kid, I think he was 15 when he started writing them. So it's okay if there's a few mistakes, as long as you love it, that's all that matters. Ps. If you do start publishing it, feel free to drop a link. I love reading new fics, especially in a world as amazing as Alegaesia.
