Thank you so much for your support, even if it’s just a few of you—it means the world to me! I hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving (if you celebrated it). I’m Audrey Edwards—well, not my real name, but let’s roll with it! I’m 20 years old and have dual nationality. My dad is from the U.S., and my mom is from Belgium. They met when he was visiting Bruges, and sparks flew! They kept a long-distance relationship for a while before my dad moved to Belgium, and they got married. Everything was great until I turned 10, when my parents divorced. My dad moved back to Pittsburgh, his hometown, while my mom stayed in Bruges. Since then, I’ve split my life between two continents. Most of the time, I live in Belgium because the education system is better here, and I have a solid group of friends. But every holiday break, I travel to the U.S. to visit my dad. +

+ Both of my parents eventually found happiness again. My mom married another man, who I now call Papa (that’s “Dad” in Dutch). They had my little broer (brother), and he and I are super close. My dad, on the other hand, fell in love with my stepmom a few years ago, and they tied the knot last year. Now they live in Raleigh, where she’s originally from. Now, for the fun part: I’m a hockey player! I play as a right defense player and wear number 17 in honor of my best friend’s birthday. I started playing hockey thanks to my dad, who’s a massive fan and even played a bit when he was younger. At first, my mom wasn’t thrilled about it, but she eventually came around. While I usually play hockey in the U.S. because the facilities are better, I’ve also found an awesome team in Belgium where I can practice and even compete! Through hockey, I met my boyfriend, who’s also a player—he’s a goalie! He’s fully American, so we’re in a long-distance relationship, but I honestly don’t mind. I like my space, and it works well for us. Next to being a student and playing hockey, I also work in the same bar where my mom used to work. When I’m not busy with that, I love spending time with my friends—whether it’s going out, having drinks, or just yapping about everything and nothing. And when I’m done with all that? I write stories or read them. I don’t always enjoy reading hockey romance books because, honestly, they’re not always that accurate. Or maybe I’m just too fixated on the details! That’s actually part of the reason I decided to write this book—I felt like there weren’t many good stories that featured two hockey players. (Except for the amazing MM hockey romance books out there—I absolutely devour those every time!)
