I went to the saddest memorial the other day. My great uncle passed. Seeing my dad struggle through his speech was rough. On the bright side, I learned so much about my grunkle! Apparently he taught my dad how to paint, and he and his husband did some cover songs once. He loved doing Harry Potter legos. He brought a bag called “the magic bag” to every birthday, and it was filled with random shit like a potato or a framed photo of the pope. His husband, who has Parkinson’s, managed to give a very moving speech. RIP my gay relative. It’s just me and my cousin atp.

My mom pulled out the “oh my gosh, Emmy has a crush!!” on me today, for the first time in a while, and it was odd because I was talking about the Scrubs guys in the T-Mobile commercials. I’ve been loudly mentioning how pretty Dee is every time we watch Survivor, and it’s the T-Mobile guys that you think I have a crush on? Can I, a grown ass woman, not utter the name of a man without my mother thinking I’m planning a wedding in my head? And why is it always men? Why does it make me so wildly uncomfortable, and why did she flip out when I said that was weird? Any of y’all’s parents like this?

Rereading Warrior Cats is an experience. I’m at Omen of the Stars rn, and (as the sibling of a sick child) I’ve never related to a character more than I relate to Blossomfall. Every time Millie has the audacity to speak to her I get nauseous. “Briarlight would give anything to hunt for her clan like you can, grow up” your child is literally concussed, Millie. Get it together

The Warrior Cats books are way more graphic than I remember them being! What do you mean we’re helping this child escape the clutches of his abuser who also commit a literal murder??? Ravenpaw should sue Thunderclan for damages tf

@Augurey2000 yeah, I’ve gotten the feeling that most people view those books as furry pipeline for kids more-or-less but the plot of the warrior cat books were heavy in angst and like war crimes I’m fairly certain

Everyone’s either hating on Byler because homophobia, or hating on Mileven because they think you’re a misogynist if you support it. I’m tired because like, we should all be able ship whatever we want without being treated as subhuman by someone who doesn’t like it. Y’all need to calm down. Neither ship won out anyway. It’s just exhausting.

I NEED TO INFO DUMP DON’T READ IF U DON’T WANT SPOILERS FOR THE FOLLOWING SERIES! My new favorite book series is the Magisterium series. It’s more unhinged than Percy Jackson (which is saying something). There’s three main characters: Callum Hunt, who has a shattered leg and also everyone hates him because he’s kind of a dick, which fucks him over when he finds out that the big bad put his soul in Call to save his own life. Tamara Rajavi, a badass and also technically the love interest but she’s Call’s friend first. Aaron Stewart, the golden retriever bestie and also a makar, which means he has scary chaos magic and also he dies and then stops being dead in a new body. There’s also Jasper, who’s an ableist dickbag in the first book but becomes nicer after Tam, Aaron, and Call kidnap him in the second book. He’s my favorite character. Call gets arrested at the end of the third book, and Jasper visits him in the fourth book to vent about his girlfriend leaving him. It’s later revealed that his girlfriend thinks Call is evil because he’s got the soul of the big bad, and she made Jasper choose her or Call. HE CHOSE CALL I LOVE HIM. He complains, and he’s not very nice, but he and Call become genuinely close and I love him and their friendship SO MUCH

I read the first book as a kid and it was fire but I never got around to reading the other 4 until recently. I always hated Jasper but he’s my favorite now, he’s so iconic
