Okay, I'm getting full of this.
Some of the people who write x readers out there STILL don't get how this all works.
M!reader/Male reader- He/him, self explanatory
F!reader/female reader- She/her, again self explanatory
Reader- they/them
Upon of all my time on wattpad I only found SO many 'x reader' FanFictions which do not adress the gender/pronounce of the the reader.
And yes, I am talking about those xfemalereaders who are adressed as xreader.
I guess y'all just don't get just HOW disrespectful that is.
You, people who are doing this, you're commiting one of the most disrespectful acts you can as an author, it's LITERALLY like if you'd be promoting nullifying the validity of people of other identities.
And if your reply is 'Well, they can always gender bend it'.
Let me tell you something, hun' hun'.
YOU.CAN'T.JUST.GENDERBEND.A.STORY.
*It is not the fucking same*
People get treated differently based upon their gender, identity, pronounce and other things, because that's just how the world rolls.
For example, you're writing a story with female reader who's about to romance a male character, and you don't adress the reader properly and then you say 'just genderbend it if you want to'
That can't happen.
Males don't get treated the same as females, females don't get treated the same as males.
Non-binary people get discriminated on daily basic.
People stereotype you based on your looks, sexuality, gender, identity, skin-color.
What I'm trying to say is;
Think about how this feels.
Now, a lot of people might say I'm overreacting but yeah- I'm not, if you don't agree with me you may just as well unfollow me.
(Sorry, I am quite agressive in this one, as I am emotionally involved, but it's how I feel. This all may seem like petty little thing to the ones not involved, but it is a big deal for those who are.)
Love you all. <3
