With all the bad news we’ve faced in 2020, I'm happy to share some good news. A short story of mine, Katianna Milena Bovinich, was chosen for the Saturday Evening Post Great American Fiction 2021 anthology. Published today on New Years Day. Yay!
I can’t begin to tell you how privileged I feel. "For more than 200 years, The Saturday Evening Post has been publishing a who’s who of American authors — Ray Bradbury, F. Scott Fitzgerald, William Faulkner, Louis L’Amour, Jack London, Joyce Carol Oates, Edgar Allan Poe, Anne Tyler, Kurt Vonnegut, Sinclair Lewis, among so many others — and continues to support the legacy of the storyteller through our annual Great American Fiction Contest and its accompanying anthology."
The short story is a section from my working novel, Where Willows Take Root, the forth honor for Willows. Different sections have been finalists for The Fish Short Story Prize and a Glimmer Train Press honorable mention. I hope Willows finds a home soon.
Wishing you a very happy new year,
Christine
