WELCOME! My pen name is Marie McKoy and music is my muse. My books are written for a young adult audience, but everyone is welcome. I hope you find my stories focus on authentic, relatable characters with a  touch of romance, mystery and magic... and, of course, some good music!

My latest YA contemporary novel WHEN WE WERE WILDFLOWERS is inspired by the Dolly Parton song 'Wildflowers'. It's about blossoming from a girl into a teenager, finding your best friend, discovering first love, and learning to survive when your world is falling apart. 

My first novel SONG OF A SOPHOMORE is coming-of-age story (set to a soundtrack of 90s pop music) about a bullied teen who learns to transform her wounds into wisdom for the ultimate victory--self love. It was chosen for the 2022 Watty's Bootcamp Mentorship Program and is very close to my heart .I hope you love the 90s nostalgia as much as I do!

I'm currently developing a fast-paced, witchy YA mystery called THE WITCHES OF WAXAHACHIE about a curse imprisoning a family of spiritually gifted women and their magic. It dates back to Victorian times when two sisters fell in love with the same man, and now every generation of sisters is fated to break the bonds of sisterhood and betray one another. Can 16-year old  Lily Killough rewrite her family's painful past and free her older sister Louisa from the generational curse before time runs out?
