I’m excited to announce my story, The Leap, has made it through the second round of the Ambys! It’s a historical fiction short story focusing on the mysterious D.B. Cooper. D.B. Hello Readers! Some may have noticed I unpublished my Star Wars fanfic Skeleton Crew: Beyond Unknown Regions, which I wrote for the Open Novella Contest 2025, but wasn’t able to complete within the timeline for the contest. I made the decision to take it down because I don’t have time to work on it at the moment.
My focus is on my other project Achilles&Briseis: A Novel. I’m going much more in depth with my retelling of the Iliad than with any other story I’ve written. Not only I’m going to finish the version I currently have posted but I’m working on a second draft offline which, I hope, improves the narrative and may one day be published either traditionally or through self publishing.
For anyone invested in the Star Wars fanfic Skeleton Crew: Beyond Unknown Regions, it will go up back eventually but I won’t make any promises when that will be.

Here’s the situation, tomorrow is the last day for the ONC round three entries to be submitted. It’s clear I will not be able to finish in time. I tried my best, but unexpected circumstances at the beginning of April really ate into my writing time and I couldn’t recover. The good news is the story will be finished but at a slower pace. I’ve decided I won’t post anymore chapters until I finish the entire story. Once I finish, I’ll start posting chapters once a week. The core of my original idea will stay the same but the story is going to be expanded. If you’d like to see what I’ve done so far check out my story Skeleton Crew: Beyond Unknown Regions.
With chapter 12 of my ONC story, Skeleton Crew: Beyond Unknown Regions, it has reached 20,000 words. I don’t know if I’ll finish before the deadline but I’m working very hard to get it done :)
I’ve got a bit of bad news. It looks like I might not finish my ONC in time for it to be eligible for round three. I’m going to try but regardless of whether it will be eligible for the contest, I will finish the story.
