You don't need to put # when adding tags, just type what you want and similar tags will pop up
And remember, ao3 is an archive. No the format doesn't recommend you fics or genres. Yes the format is kind of confusing at first but you quickly get the hang of it.
And YES, there will be fics and oneshots with 4k to even 10k words a chapter. NO there isn't an app for ao3, so deal with it

Honestly I feel like the whole y/n things been out dated, I think you should just make our name eight. The character having a name connected to the story gives the personality more depth! :)
