Having read a story focused on the ocean recently, I've been considering doing a revision of Wind Waker. Though it is "only" a fan work, I do very much like these characters, and feel that I could do much better than I did the first time. My concern however is that one, I'd run out of steam disappointing people with an unfinished second draft, and two, that it would distract me from my original projects that I do not post on Wattpad as to preserve their publishing rights.

All this being said, let me know, anyone who may be interested in this. There are many silent readers out there who've professed ages after that they loved a work of mine, yet said nothing - so if you do like my story and do want me to return to my Zelda fan works, please let me know.

Due to my very saddened state regarding the state of Wind Waker, and Toon Zelda, I'm afraid I don't really have the heart to work on a novelization of Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks anymore.

I wanted to do them, but now I just ask myself what the point is. The games are disliked by most of the Zelda community, and Toon Zelda itself is just kind of forgotten.

Unlike my grief with watching my favorite game be held hostage on the Wii U, I can actual exert control over my own original work. So I now abandon my work on my Zelda fanfiction, and go to stuff that doesn't make me feel sad.

@GanondorfDragmire1 Eji Aonuma actually stated that no other Zelda games are in development for the Switch. It's not coming.

@Awesome-astronaut I'm sorry you feel that way, it's tough to find out. Wind Waker is a cherished game of mine, my brother and sister as well. We had a lot of fun and laughs playing it, from slashing at those pigs to make them mad to purposefully making Link fall on the ice.

it's too bad, they missed out on an amazing game that so many players do love.

Well, I just watched the Nintendo E3 direct. No Wind Waker HD port.

I'm kind of convinced at this point that the game will not come to Switch. Therefore, it will be a long while before we see it again, if ever.

To me, this signals that the end for the series really is here. And I did, always consider Toon Link's games to be a separate series from the main, just as paper mario is also a cartoon style, and distinct from other entries.

Because Wind Waker is not going to show up again anytime soon, it will not have the actual successful release it missed out on in its two prior releases. And because it will not grow in attention from that, I see little chance of a new game starring Toon Link ever happening.

To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. This is my favorite game. It is forgotten by a lot of the community in favor of more flashy or traditionally praised games, while Wind Waker and its sequels have always been in a much rougher spot.

So in lieu of Nintendo not acknowledging the game, I feel no qualms about playing it on dolphin emulator. If Nintendo has a problem with it, they should've given me a way to play the game that didn't require a Wii U.

@Awesome-astronaut just beacuse it wasn't announced in e3 dosent mean it won't be released no one knew that skyward sword would come to the switch plus the suprise of age of calamity so just wait for a bit and see what happens you never know what they'll do with the legend of Zelda realm (games) they may release it with a few other games to the switch in a bundle like with Mario with but just with Zelda but they may put windwaker with Twilight Princess and ocarina of time I don't know if it will happen I've just been hearing rumours that it may happen Idk what they will do for the anniversary for the Zelda series we just need to wait and see

Hullo my friends, long time no see. I have been taking a break from writing, but soon enough, I'll be settled in a summer job, and have college registration done. When I have that figured out, then I will begin working on some of my stuff here again hopefully. Can't wait to get feedback from y'all!

@Riptide755 I actually have drafts for both that were up on the site some time ago. While I feel like there's more that I can do with a Spirit Tracks one (as I've admitted to myself that I need to change the story far more than I did with Wind Waker) I feel like I might do Phantom Hourglass first just for chronology's sake.

@Awesome-astronaut Yay! Are you going to make a spirit tracks fanfic? Or maybe a phantom hourglass one?

I have some important news, please read.

On my other account, I am taking down my original fantasy. I also will not be publishing my other original work there in the future.

After talking with a professional editor in the publishing industry, I've learned that having my stories on these sites, even if they're only first drafts, and even if I take them down, can void my chances at being able to have them published in print, as it voids first publishing rights.

This will not effect this account. Since Wind Waker is fanfiction, it is ineligible for publishing, and thus will remain here. I also will consider working on adaptations of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Unlike with my past schedule, I will seek to update them more regularly.

Thank you for your patience, I appreciate all of your support.

Do you read this messages? I would be interested to get a response if you do. I also am wondering - my main project now is my original fantasy, but if anyone is interested in my actually working on my Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks adaptations here? I may put some more time towards them.

Awesome-astronaut

@deerlydot Thanks for the heads up! As I mentioned, I will be devoting most of my efforts to my fantasy novel for now, but I will definitely try to do some work on both of those!

@Awesome-astronaut I'm interested in them! Mainly Spirit Tracks, but I do love a good Phantom Hourglass fic.

@Awesome-astronaut I read most of the announcements in my notifications, however, I'm not always around to make the time to respond to all. Whether people are interested or invested in your work as much as you are, that's a different story. I haven't had the pleasure of reading your work, but if you want to know, sign up for contests and request reviews—sometimes it's best to see in a different picture. I recommend @RowanCarver 's review book, she's honest and knows what's she's talking about.

Well, it's finally done. My first completed novel. Probably not going to do much editing on it - this has really just been training wheels for my bigger project, my original fantasy.

Thanks to all those who read it and have read it, hopefully you enjoyed my interpretation of the story. :)

Awesome-astronaut

This story is taking forever. I think however, that my adaptation of Wind Waker is finally approaching real completion. I have but one gap left to fill, and then it will be a quick race to the finish.

And no, I am not planning on writing the whole entire triforce quest.

Awesome-astronaut

It seems that The Wind Waker is finally getting some traction. On this pass of the text, I'm finally finding that I'm liking how it's turning out. Hopefully I'll be able to finally fill in the links in the chain.

If I can figure out the gaps with the earth/wind temple, I can make a quick race for the future.
