I chose to start with one of your quieter stories, and this premise immediately pulled me in. The idea of being someone’s daughter, someone’s trust, and someone’s responsibility — but maybe not fully your own person yet — feels so emotional and complicated.

          It made me think about my own heroine, because she’s also trying to understand who she is outside of other people’s memories and expectations. Not the same situation at all, but the same kind of quiet identity struggle.

          As a new writer, can I ask how you keep a heroine’s voice strong when everyone around her is trying to define her life for her?

          This feels like the kind of story that hurts softly.

@Author_without Assalamu alaykum,

            Thank you so much for this. I’m genuinely moved that the “quiet struggle” came through. That’s exactly what I was scared would get lost.

            Your observation about being “someone’s daughter, someone’s responsibility… but not your own person yet” — you nailed her conflict better than I did in my own notes.

            To answer your question: I keep her voice strong by letting her be _wrong_ sometimes. When everyone’s defining her, she starts whispering her own definitions in small acts. Choosing the wrong dress. Saying “no” too late. Staring at things too long. Strength isn’t loud at first. It’s her refusing to be fully silent.

            I’d love to read about your heroine too. The “staring at things too long” kind of characters are my favorite.

            Jazakillahu khayr for reading. It means a lot.

Hey guys
          I recently came across this book again and I’m honestly hooked. The storyline, the emotions… everything just hits differently.

          She had to restart it, so let’s support her by reading, voting, and adding it to our libraries. You won’t regret it
