I got sidetracked from The New Stories by the Ranger Gathering. You can check out my entry on AO3.

Have we ever considered what bogus fears all the Ranger’s Apprentice characters have??? I think that Alyss is the only one outright stated to have a normal fear.
          
          Will is afraid of snow and the cold, which is fair considering the events of Skandia, but taken out of context is rather ludicrous, although I suppose you could say shadows as well, considering the night warrior. Alyss is scared of heights, sure, that’s acceptable. Horace, I believe, was stated to have some crazy fear that I forgot about, but I know it’s weird. Jenny exhibits qualities that we can infer come from a fear of failure, Crowley is scared of paperwork, Gilan might not have an outrightly stated fear, but it’s Gilan. It’s probably geese or wasps or something.
          
          Halt is canonically terrified of shrimp.
          
          Shrimp. 
          
          
          And I quote, “I still can’t stand even the sight of shrimp.”; “It’s interesting how often the fate of the world is decided over something so trivial as bad shellfish.” Etcetera.

So.
          
          The next update to 'The New Stories', the segment previously called Awkward, (it made sense with my discarded draft, I swear!), is going to be pretty different from the previously published parts.
          
          I just felt I should explain it further.
          
          The first and most notable of these differences, is that unlike 'Paperwork' and 'FFASC', this next work is the first of two whumphs/sickfics in this collection. If you are unfamiliar with these terms, a sickfic is a work of fiction focusing on a character who is, well, sick. Whumphs can be stretched to 'umbrella' this, if you will, but is more commonly used as a broader term for essentially physically destroying a character in many ways, typically a more graphic style in some cases killing the character.
          
          BEFORE YOU CLICK AWAY- I PROMISE I HAVE NO INTENTION OF KILLING OFF ANYONE! All that is included in this delicious buffet of angst is drama, denial, suspense, and uh... fluff. Everyone lives and gets a happy ending, I swear!
          
          Second of the most notable differences!
          
           This work actually is not a one-shot, but is and extended story separated into four parts. I am not yet certain exactly how I will choose to update and split the parts. So far, I have a couple spots where it might flow easily, but splitting a whole story AFTER it's drafted is hard! The story has to flow, yet 'hook' the reader into wanting the rest of the story, and it's more difficult when I am also trying to deal with editing without relying on my friends and family to double check and give me honest opinions. I have excellent spelling, but I am horrible at typing, so it comes out a rather average job.

I learned that you can set your location to anything. Guess who's going to Narnia.
