"I have the advantage of working from home. The offices cannot accommodate me because of my wheels." Micheal smiled gesturing to his wheelchair. "So when the attack happened I was also at home."
Oscar nodded slowly. "So you were all here when-"
"Here?" Amber frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I just... I thought you all lived here."
"Only cause Charlie lets us stay." Michael smiled patting Charlie's shoulder firmly. "He's the man of this house."
Charlie stated quiet, still staring at his plate.
"How did you get away from the attack? Aren't we fairly close to where it happened to begin with?"
"I never said I escaped it." Charlie grumbled.
Bark made an unsettled noise and his head lifted, ears perked.
Charlie was on his feet in seconds pulling a gun out of the drawer next to the cooker.
"I didn't know you had another gun." Michael frowned spinning his chair to face the door.
Charlie had pulled his mask on the dark lenses staring at the back door.
Then came a knock.
"Not how people usually try to break into a house." Michael said tilting his head. He seemed far too calm.
Amber was gripping the table so tight Oscar could see her knuckles turning white. His own heart was pounding away in his chest.
Charlie opened the door, to reveal a woman standing there patiently waiting.
"We've got a problem." The woman explained. Oscar couldn't place her accent.
