Chemist by training but aspiring writer. I like to write about New York, where I am originally from and have just the slightest magical things happen. Really, I just miss the NY subways. They can be awful so much of the time and yet it is such a symbol of home! 

My favorite series of all time is Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials" series but I mostly enjoy urban fantasy novels in the likes of Neil Gaiman's "Neverwhere" and Lev Grossman's "The Magicians" Trilogy. As well as historical fiction such as "All the Light we Cannot See," by Anthony Doerr and "The Alice Network," by Kate Quinn. 

Yes, I know those are the big names and I do like other authors but I thought the titles above with have the general gist of my kind of stories.
