Hey, no problem, thanks for the follow back. Well, I generally daydream a lot and think about what I want to do with the characters. Is there a ship that you like? Is there a certain theme or character that you like? I started with the ship Romione and I quoted liked the whole romance idea of them over coming obstacles for their relationship (for example Lavender). I quite like working with Ron and the Weasleys because their personalities are quite fun to work with and sometimes quite unpredictable. The fanfiction "I Want You" on my profile was the first fanfiction that I published and I wrote it within a couple of hours. It was very basic and short but I thought carful my about what I wanted the characters to do and how I wanted to portray them.
Now getting views is the harder thing. I would strongly recommend a good description (not too long but not too vague). Take some time to read the descriptions on other peoples books to get an idea of the things to write. Most people read a book that has some sort of cover as well. Mine was made with the Covers WattPad app but those are very simple.
Getting reads take time. There are a lot of good books out there that only have a few reads so be patient. Not everyone can reach 1 million reads overnight.
Tags can also be important. Make sure to add tags to your story about themes, main characters etc...
It took me a while to get the reads that I actually have but don't be put off if you have more reads on your first chapters than your later ones. My first chapter has 100+ reads but my current ones have 20+.
I hope this all helps, I tried to keep it short. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
