Lean more into the mafia side of it is what I would suggest? :))
- introduce a villain or rival mafia that starts a war
- maybe kill off a few ppl that will force other into different positions (leave my 4 mc’s ALIVE plzzzzzz) (don’t wanna spoil anything if you do use this idea but if you message me i can think of a few characters to kill off)
- do prom in the middle of the chaos to emphasize on the romance between A and L
- give us a deeper insight on Lani’s plans for the future
- family fun between all the families like a Thanksgiving or Fourth of July
