Tell me about yourself.
The question-disquised as a statement-kind of makes you pause, huh? Where to start? Should you tell your fans that your favorite color is pink? That you're addicted to knitted scarves, especially in peach, and love Starbucks hot cocoa, but only if it has skim milk and extra chocolate sauce on top? Or do you tell them that you're a dedicated follower to the Pretty Little Liarsshow and have a strong dislike against Spencer, the sister's-boyfriend-stealing wannabe-perfect manipulative liar?
As your fingers fly across the keyboard, explaining why you always have to have perfect nails-and that today they're a fabulous teal (metallic teal, no less), it must occur to you that you have to figure out a way to tell everyone who you are (something that on some days, even you don't know) in less then 2000 characters. Not words, characters. You pause, mid-sentence, mid-story of the time your dog knocked over his entire box of dog bones and ate them all while your family was on vacation in Aruba and consider. You're at 1100 characters. It looks like a lot, but you know looks can be deceiving.
What do you want fans to know about you? Suddenly, your detailed sentence on why you love orange-blossom perfume and added a teeny splash of vanilla extract in the perfume bottle seems unnecessary. Ctrl, Alt, Delete, the sentence is gone. But as soon as your finger presses the delete button, you want the sentence back. You want your fans to know how you smell, for some odd reason you can quite decipher.
So you stare blankly at the screen for a while. Sure, you could put in a bunch of lame stuff, like a list of My Favorite Things, but you know that's lame. You want people to want to read the whole profile. And honestly, wouldn't you rather have your fans know about how you buy plain shoes and decorate them with your 72-count pack of Sharpies then that you like glitter?
My name is Bri Dimonde. There's a lot more about me up in those 2000 characters then you think.

@EmmiieThank you! I have a story Silent Murder but no fans. How do I get fans? I know it's pretty good, you can read it and see, but still.View all Conversations
