Hi everybody,
It might be years since some of you guys followed me so you'll probably have no idea who I am by now; it's certainly been years since I last updated on here, and I'm truly sorry for that.
I'm BarneysCrew (also known as Rebecca), and 8 years ago I made a Wattpad account purely because I love to read and write. Simply put, Wattpad offered a place for me to fulfil both those pleasures.
I never expected that I would get quite the response that I have.
At my last count, my works have been read nearly 8 million times. That is CRAZY.
The biggest chunk of that comes from the Lazuli trilogy, which took off in a way that I could never have imagined. I love that fact that so many people have enjoyed reading my take on a story that we all love, and I can't tell you how much it has encouraged me to keep writing over the years - knowing that there are people out there who are genuinely interested in what I have to say.
I feel I should offer you all an explanation, and an apology.
When I started writing Lazuli, I had just turned 15. By the time I had finished Sapphire, I was about to begin my A-Levels. Very quickly, I realised that I no longer had the time that I’d once had, where I could spend hours and hours writing chapters upon chapters.
Life got in the way.
I started Obsidian because you wanted to read it, and I’m sorry that I never got to finish it. A lot of people ask me whether I ever plan to, and the honest answer is no.
I’m sorry if that’s not what you want to hear, but I could never do justice to the story anymore. My heart would no longer be in it, and I have always produced my best work when it’s come from something that I love.
That doesn’t, however, mean that I will stop writing, and perhaps – IF I can find time – I might come back to Wattpad to create that work.
For now, please know I am sorry for vanishing into thin air, and that your support has meant the world.
