@MissDrPepper  to answer your second question, yes you can just have one chapter uploaded if you are doing it just to make a cover. that's fine. 3rd question answer: to get the backround look at your user at the top of the screen or if its on a mobile device MY PROFILE then settings. I know some good websites for making or editing pictures and covers if you want.

@MissDrPepper you have to click create at the top (really easy to locate of you're on the computer) and one you click it then it will show all of your stories. then you click change cover which is to the right of the book
