That was a loooong rant :) If you don't mind copying and pasting what I said, in the coment section of the story I would really appreciate it. (obviously saying that it's me saying those things) And again this is just my opinion on things. I don't expect everyone to see things like I do.

I could not answer you on the comment section for some reason but here's how I see it;

          A woman who went through αbuse doesn't want to feel weak & defenseless again. She wants to be able to defend herself if needed and feel confident & strong. Imagine if said woman knew that at some point her brother would be released from prιson. So basically she knew for years that there was a ticking clock over her head but decided to just live her life while she can? How could she even sleep at night knowing that when her brother found her she would be screωed. What if she hadn't met Drake?

          I understand what you said about shock but I disagree. First off, if she did take self defense classes she would learn to get past that mainly because you learn to think and act fast under pressure in order to get out of bad situations. I understand her feeling scared and shocked at the beginning. But not for minutes just standing there while watching everything unfold before her eyes. Moreover, the same feelings shared Drake too. What because he's a guy you think he wasn't afraid and shocked as well? But he got past that and acted because there was not another option. I cannot and will not understand her character mainly because I have so many friends (myself included) who carry always something with us in case a bad situation arises. And if you think that's probably because we might live in a country where women are treated like garbage you are mistaken. We live in Europe in a country known for its low crime rate but still we are prepared. For me a woman who knew she was in that amount of danger and didn't hire a bodyguard, didn't carry with her a pepper spray/mace spray and a taser and most importantly didn't learn how to fight back and defend herself is downright pathetic. I hate it when women are portrayed weak and that's that.
