My literary influences:

Roald Dahl was my favourite author when I was growing up. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, George's Marvelous Medicine, Fantastic Mr Fox and Matilda are amongst my favourite stories.

As an adult I have enjoyed the Harry Potter novels (a guilty pleasure of mine), and I have read the Night's Dawn Trilogy and Void Trilogy (by Peter F Hamilton), which are both epic series. I've really enjoyed the Old Man's War Saga (by John Scalzi) and the Lost Fleet series (by John G. Hemry) is another great series. 

As you may have guessed, sci-fi is a passion of mine. I am a big fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate and Doctor Who, though my interests also include football, Formula 1, Spartacus, Chuck, The Almighty Johnsons, Supernatural and a lot more. I am the proud father to a wonderful daughter, and am very lucky to have a wife who shares almost all the same interests as me!
