It's the halfway point over at Camp NaNo! I've written 36k words of my psychological fantasy novel and I'm making some good progress. Also having a lot of fun watching #authortube videos, which I highly recommend. What about you? Tell me what you're up to in your writing life.
And, on Monday, Camp Nanowrimo starts! Eeeee! So excited! Today I am working on Scene Blocking so I can start hammering out the first draft come Monday morning. I've been sorted into a cabin with some lovely people, and I'm excited to get to know them (a lovely lot of painters, gardeners, cooks, and writers) while I blast this out!
If you're interested in seeing how my writing process for my steamy fantasy thriller is going, you can read what amount to blog posts in my conversation area!
I finished up LOCATIONS! Today I've begun advanced plotting, which is all about finding all the threads in the story, color-coding them, and tracking them visually through their beats. This way I can see which threads are still loose and need to be codified better.
HOKAY SO. I finished up my character development days, and now I'm on day two of three for location development.
It's so fun. You guys. SO. FUN. I ended up googling "Can you milk a bison?"

And then, day after tomorrow, I get to begin the Advanced Plotting portion of this process.
I've launched a countdown, and I want you to hold me accountable! In 95 days I will finish writing my steamy fantasy thriller - I'll post the first chapter on August 30th. Mark your calendar. Prepare popcorn and coffee!
Poke me. Remind me to deliver. Nag me, and tease me if I don't cough this novel up. Here goes nothing!
The plan is to finish outlining character development, locations, advanced plotting, character viewpoints, and scene blocking by the end of June.
Then I'll hammer out my first draft during Camp Nanowrimo! I'll dedicate August to revisions. Then... Eeee! I will UNLEASH THE STORY. Let's get this done!
