" beverly ! bev , i-i need to talk to you . please , i need your help . " eddie approached her , his voice plaintive and small , his eyes wide and brimming with tears .

eddie sniffled some more , and slowly covered his face with his hands . he shook his head , and only after a moment or two spoke softly . " m - my mom .. bev - i know you'd understand .. but she just .. she's out of control . "

eddie walked beside bev , his head down and his eyes blank as he felt his body go numb . pushing these feelings away was something eddie tried to do often , but he was a very emotional boy , and trying to hide his feelings was virtually impossible . when they got to beverly 's house he followed her inside , eyes still on the ground .
