A relative died from COVID-19 this week, so life has been busy. I do have a chapter of The King's Advisor just about ready. I want to do one more edit before posting it though, so I may wait until next Tuesday for it. Sorry about that! Life has just been a bit crazy this week.

Chapter 2 of The King's Advisor is up! I hope you enjoy it. 

I've been so busy.  No short story today, but chapter 2 of The King's Advisor is still coming out as planned on Tuesday. How is everyone doing? Can you believe it's almost March? 

The first chapter of the King's Advisor is up. Go check it out to find out about the main character, Randi. Her favorite band is Flogging Molly and she's a little obsessed with Arthurian Legend (by a little, I mean a lot!).

The King's Advisor takes place during the 5th Century and is based on Arthurian legend. Did you know that King Arthur had a Black knight of the round table? Sir Morien was one of the men from the legend and is often referred to as the "black knight". 
          
          You can guarantee Sir Morien will be in The King's Advisor.

I just published a new short story for a submission in a short story contest. Please tell me what you think of Well Played. It's 1750 words, so an easy read.

Ready for another bit of random info on the Arthurian legend? Did you know that Merlin was introduced into Arthurian legend by Geoffrey of Monmouth? He's actually based off a Welsh legend from the 6th century - a man named Myrddin Wyllt. This means Myrddin the Wild.  Supposedly, after a battle, he ran off into the woods and lived with the animals going mad. While there, he also received the gift of prophecy. In the 11th century Geoffrey of Monmouth added him to Arthurian legend as Merlin the Wizard.

In the prologue of The King's Advisor, Merlin talks about "awen". What is awen? Emma Restall Orr, founder and former head of The Druid Network, defines awen as 'flowing spirit' and says that 'Spirit energy in flow is the essence of life'.
          
          In The King's Advisor Merlin has magic. It will pull a little bit from the Druid religion, but it will mostly be fictionalized. However, Awen, in my story, is king of like the Force is in Star Wars. It's the energy that magic flows through and the energy some speak to the Spirits through. 
          
          Since I'm only posting a chapter each week, I'll try to share little bits of info about the world I'm creating or the characters on the days I don't post.
