The Best Time for New Beginnings is Now.
'New to This' is a real-life inspired love story meant for people to understand how to both accept help and ask for help.
Leah is a self-sufficient, independent, career woman. She needs no one because she has no one. That's the story she tells herself at least. She works a high stress and high demand job while trying to manage her chronic illness and feed her neglected spiritual calling as best she can. The only option she has ever had is to manage her life alone. Because she is 'too young to be that sick,' her job 'can't possibly be that stressful' and even if it is 'simply find a new career.' She has spent her whole life having people tell her how she should feel. She's learned that what is important to her needs to be held close. People simply cannot be trusted with her secrets because the people can only be trusted to deliver judgment and ridicule.
Jamie is the oldest child of three and self-proclaimed: head of the family. Since his dad got sick years ago, his mom has focused on bringing in money and keeping her husband healthy. So, Jamie spent the last six years raising his younger sisters the best a teen could raise other teens. Last year, his anger got the best of him. He almost ruined his, and his family's, lives forever. After a second chance came purely out of convenience, he is determined to protect his family's reputation even if it means sacrificing his own sanity.
