So, this is the first little bit of what I've been working on for chapter 6 of my fanfic Three Knocks, Then Stanley (I assumed it would be fine to share, since you said you wanted to be a beta reader for it). By the way, if you find any grammar errors, spelling errors, or things that would be better worded another way, let me know. Anyway, here it is: 'After Bill left the store, Eddie had only one thought in his mind- well, okay, more like several thousand, but the rest were mainly about Stanley’s nose, so none of those counted.
As his mother would say, if she saw Stan’s nose: “Eddie, I told you, you really ought to stop spending so much time with that Jew-boy. Just look at what happened to him! You’re a fragile boy, Eddie. I would never let anything like that happen to you.”
When he was a kid, he used to think, like many other children, that his mother must be right about everything.
That stopped soon after he became friends with Stanley Uris in high school.
Eddie and Stanley became friends while at a summer camp that both of their mothers wanted them to go to. They were the only two there who seemed to think the camp was stupid.
Mrs. Kaspbrak was hesitant to let Eddie go to the camp, but in the end, she decided it would be best if he went. If he saw how cruel those kids were sooner rather than later, then he would know it was for the best to not want to have any friends, anyway.
She was somewhat disappointed to hear that Eddie had made a friend, even if it was only one.
She knew that there were worse things out there than her Eddie having made a friend, so she let it slide, until she actually met Stanley, that is.'
