Billy Frampton was born William Frampton in East London, UK, raised in Essex and now lives mostly in South Africa. His early education was in a Dagenham Primary and Barking Secondary Modern. Later in his late twenties he studied with the Open University to obtain a BA Honours and later a Master in Education and undertook a Doctorate program.

He met his South African wife whilst teaching in West London and moved to Jeffreys Bay – the surfer’s paradise - South Africa in 2004.  

He has three daughters still living in the UK
