I lives two lives. In one life, I am a novelist and short story author. In the other, I am a healthcare technology forecaster and medical writer with over 20 years’ experience in professional writing, technology forecasting, medical science, and computer programming. I hold a BS in biology; an MS in molecular pharmacology; an MA in English; and graduate certificates in professional writing, computer science, and theology. I have also studied philosophy at the graduate level. 

For a good portion of the past decade, I have played an integral part (as a forecaster, writer, programmer, and manager) in a high-profile U.S. government project that serves to predict the future of medicine and healthcare for various government and private sector stakeholders. Prior to this time, in addition to my writing, I have worked as a biodefense researcher, bioinformatician, and software engineer.

My experiences in the fields of medicine, technology, forecasting, government, and computer science, my educational background in the sciences and humanities, and my love for philosophy, art, and literature, provide a rich source of material for my writings.
