This is random (you might know me from Lee's story, Forget), but you can try to tell him, "Oh, but if I'm able to ace the auditions and get the part, maybe I can have a career in acting next time. Y'know, be a rich and famous actor and whatnot." Of course, don't say whatnot, make the request professional.
