⚠️ Please Read Important Warning About Wattpad Data Breach ⚠️
          
          Hey everyone,
          I just wanted to share something important that happened to my friend recently, in hopes of keeping others safe.
          
          Recently, her personal information was stolen including access to her credit card. After looking into it, she discovered that the info may have been traced back to her childhood Wattpad account. 
          
          After some research, we found out that Wattpad suffered a major data breach back in 2020, where millions of users data was exposed and leaked onto the dark web. This included emails, usernames, and possibly other private information.
          
          Even if you haven’t used Wattpad in a while, your info might still be out there.
          
          Here’s what you can do to protect yourself:
          
          Change your Wattpad password immediately (and use a strong one!)
          If you’ve used the same password on other sites, change those too
          Watch for any strange activity on your accounts or credit cards
          Consider using a password manager and enabling two-factor authentication
          Please stay safe online, and share this with anyone who might not know. It’s scary what can happen, but being informed is the first step.
