BlazingPAW

Umm... Hey! I have been QUITE inactive since my completion of Vigilante PAW. I've got my reasons, I was just a little hesitant on explaining why.

Well, a lot of you might remember me talking about a reviewer on FF.net dragging my story over the coals. It was discouraging to hear, but, upon receiving a final review from the same reviewer talking about the last sections of my story, I realized that while this reviewer is pretty critical of my work, the points they made were still valid.

I ADORE Vigilante PAW, but I also found myself agreeing with a lot of the points they made, and realized there were a lot of inconsistences in the story, and with the themes I tried to convey. Why? Because this reviewer understood the theme completely, and was quick to tell me that I didn't exactly stick the landing on a lot of things involving it. And, well, they were right.

Back when I was still working on the story, I was doing my best to make something that the community could be proud of, and after getting those reviews, I was gutted. It hit hard, and I stopped posting my story on FF.Net for a while because I was scared of receiving more. But you can't really improve without criticism, right?

Getting through that final review was ROUGH. But at the end of the day, there was still encouragement to do better moving forward. Recommendations on what I could do. It wasn't mindless slander. It was genuine criticism with the intention of getting me to recognize my flaws, and I didn't really see that until recently. Guess I ended up getting the character development ^^'

But, I wouldn't be lying if I said it wasn't a heavy blow to my self esteem and perceived competence when making long narratives. Hell, the reviewer didn't even know I planned out the story in its entirety months before I posted chapter one. Which is the main reason I haven't returned with another story.

"Guest" was right, I can do better. I'd love to. But I'm admittedly scared to do it again. It could be a while.

A little late, I don't use Wattpad, even rarer for me to check my notifications, and EVEN RARER for me to reply to an announcement. But you, my friend, are worth it. Because your fanfictions are some of the greatest I've ever encountered. Now there aint no such thing as a perfect story. But that shouldn't stop you from doing what you love. So please, please, keep writing. And keep up the outstanding work.

You were one of two main inspiration for me to do what I do here.

Whether that is a compliment or an insult not even I am sure of, but we'll go with compliment because of how much I legitimately enjoy your stuff.

I'm writing my own Marshall and Chase: On the Skase! Style story mainly because of you, and I wanted to thank you for the motivation and I inspiration to try this.

So thanks. Love your stuff. You probably won't even see this but whatever. You paw posted a little under a month ago so who knows.

          Sincerely,

Quick question for anyone here that sees.

Say I had ideas for a fic about another popular childrens' cartoon. Should I make an entirely new account for that? Or just have all of my stories here?

(Before you ask, no, I'm not abandoning PAW Patrol. At least not for the time being. I've just been hit with a brick of inspiration.)

WillRed01

For the first question: I suggest that maybe you should try Thomas the Tank Engine for your next project.

And for the Second question: I honestly don't know, but I guess keep all your work here on this one.

I just realized that I haven't posted an announcement since I finished the second to last chapter of Vigilante PAW...

Well, here I am! No, I'm not here with a writing update or a new story. I just felt like coming on here and saying a huge THANK YOU!! For supporting Vigilante PAW as much as all of you have since I created the story. It's almost been a whole year since the first 5 chapter came out, and now, we've finished at a good 50 chapters with the most reads and votes I've gotten on any of my stories here.

I'll be honest, when I first created VP, I was a little nervous about how the story was going to go. I mean, come on! I went from writing feel-good stories about the pups and their small fanfic adventures mostly focused on romance to a more angst-y and drawn out plot. The concept of one of the pups running away from the Lookout after some kind of falling out was a concept that I had toyed with working on once before, but I wasn't getting anywhere, as there wasn't a problem big enough in my opinion to separate the team. That is, until I found one.

From there, the story almost wrote itself. I did my best to depict Marshall being put in a situation where being himself was the driving source of his pain and the main conflict of the story. And I seemed to find myself falling in love with the branch of fanfiction I'd created. I just HAD to see it through to the end. And exactly 254,660 words later, I did just that.

But, anecdotes aside, this is all just to say THANK YOU so much for supporting that project of mine! I'm glad you stuck by it, even when things didn't exactly make too much sense when they weren't elaborated on yet. Even when I took forever to get the last 5 chapters done. Even when I took big breaks between chapters.

Your time and support has been, and always will be appreciated!

Sorry for bothering you again, but i have a another question that i really want to get out of my mind (and will be the last one i promise).

Is the second season will be based around the Mighty Movie or are you gonna create a whole diffrent and original story of it?

Solar_Reads

@BlazingPAW Ah, got it thanks.

BlazingPAW

@Solar_Reads The second season will be a plotline branching out from season one. So no Mighty Movie. The way this AU works is that movie one happens later on in time(when the pups are in their teens), and instead of going back, they remain in Adventure City.

Beyond that point will be completely original, as it starts soon after the completion of the first season. Taking continuity into thought, since this is based on a universe where the pups left Adventure Bay after everything that happened in the show instead of it being a separate thing, the Mighty Pups specials(Not the movie) have already happened, and has been referenced once or twice in season one. It wouldn't have made sense for me to base the second season off of the Mighty Movie.

Short Version: Since season one takes place in a universe where the movie happens after the original series would end, the Mighty Movie's plot wouldn't make sense because the meteor would be in Adventure Bay's lookout after the Mighty Pups specials.

Hi, sorry for bothering you but is Paw Patrol: Advanced going to continue? I've been looking forward to it since Vigilante PAW ended.

Please make a sequel to your Skace story. Maybe have it as an Evershall centered story with a bit of the continuous adventures of Skace's relationship.

BlazingPAW

Making a sequel to “Marshall and Chase” hasn’t really seemed necessary to be honest. The story was rounded out quite well. Kind of like a “short and sweet” vibe.
