Hi! I’m trying to find a Chinese historical rebirth novel I read on Wattpad (it had only about 20 chapters and was incomplete). This is what I remember:
It’s set in ancient China. The female lead was sold by her uncle to a cruel tyrant prince (something like Prince Nanna / Nangong, referred to as the Prince of Darkness). In her previous life, she died from poison while with him, and he didn’t cremate her body — he kept it because he loved her.
She is reborn and holds a grudge, especially because he didn’t cremate her. Her maid urges her to use a whip on him if she’s angry, so she goes to do that but instead finds him badly beaten. She saves him and brings him to her house, and he becomes her guard. Her father and brother are still alive at this point.
Before her rebirth, the male lead had a leg alignment problem and she used to comfort him. There’s a scene where her fiancé is drowned by the prince, and she goes to whip the prince but he hides behind a dagger — and she ends up whipping herself, about to do it again before he stops her.
Later, she is drugged, and the prince (acting as her guard) gives her an antidote and teasingly asks her to kiss him. Another moment is when he finds her crying in her sleep, whispering “my lord”, dreaming about her past life with him.
At one point she asks him what he’d do if someone close to him died, and he says he would never bury them — he would cherish them forever, and that’s when she realizes why he didn’t cremate her — he genuinely loved her.
That’s everything I remember — do you know what the title is or where it’s hosted?
