I first read 2nd chances nearly 3 years ago, in 2023, around the start of the year I decided I wanted to take another Crack at it with a little more reading comprehension as an adult, got to say it still holds up quite well, I would say that I did notice some things this time around like Shinobu really not having a moment to shine that comes to mind or how some battles could have maybe gone on for longer, like the second douma fight, that being said it is still my absolute favorite fic around, it's not common to come by a story on this app that's actually well written, follows the story and characters well while also changing it around to make it interesting, genuinely the only story I've read on this app that's above an 8/10, and by a large margin superior to anything I've read here, part of the reason why I just never used wattpad after reading 2nd chances.
I think the characters are actually more well characterized than people give this credit for, like shinobu is a strong willed person but deep down is also very emotional and clings onto loved ones, lets not forget how she completely took over her sister's personality out of sheer grief in the original, so its not far-fetched that she'd react so strongly to Giyuu getting hurt, something that on my first read I found odd now makes sense because of this.
I know the author has likely moved on, and that they're rightfully living out their life, they have no obligation to us as readers, so while I've accepted that what's left of their fics will likely never see the end of their run, I'm glad I got the chance to experience such a story at all, so if the author will ever come to see this, thank you
