I write spontaneously, inspired by the retards around me and the even greater retard of myself! People are awesome, though :)
My characters are definitely "different"... I get sick of the generic hot guys and retard chicks, so I give them extremer personality traits and yes, sometimes this makes them unlikeable. Real people have unlikeable traits...
As an accountant I meet all kinds of people, and despite our business relationships I learn a lot about the strange personalities out there from all walks of life! Currently I'm writing quite a few novels, but I'll only post a few here, and maybe some short stories.

I greatly appreciate proper grammar and spelling, even though my sadly deformed keyboard doesn't always have the full range of letters available (once the "a" key stopped working for a week...). I try not to judge a story based purely on this, but if your story description sounds like you were drunk when you wrote it...

'Nother thing. I am almost always disappointed when authors use more than one POV in their stories. It doesn't usually develop the character better, it just throws the story off and makes me less attached to the original main character. It also reveals how unimaginative the author is. You build a firm base with one character that the reader can relate to, and then you try to get them to sympathize with another character who sounds exactly the same and they all become flat characters. I can't relate to everyone at once for goodness sake! If I want to feel like I'm in the story I have to follow one character the whole time. I have yet to find a change of POV that helped the story at all. You shouldn't always listen to your fans...
That doesn't relate if your story is told in third person, of course. Third person is wonderful, and sadly underused...

Mind you, I am very strange.
