I'm a queer cupcake with a sprinkle of gay. Guys, I have to vent because I'm absolutely disgusted by the way LGBTQ+ people are treated.
It's fucking rude to say things like, "A baby should have a mom and a dad," or "I just want the baby to have a normal life" to LGBTQ+ people. What makes a family "normal"? A loving, supportive family is a family.
And to those who say LGBTQ+ people are going to Hell: if you believe in a God who created humanity and teaches us to love, why respond to someone's love with hatred?
If God didn't want LGBTQ+ people to exist, then why do LGBTQ+ people exist?
People choose to hate others who are doing absolutely no harm simply because they love someone who makes them happy. The Bible teaches us to love others-even our enemies. So where is that love?
Being LGBTQ+ isn't something people can simply choose to turn off. Sexual orientation is influenced by biological and environmental factors. It isn't something that can simply be "cured" through religion or treatment.
Honestly, if I could change who I am just to avoid the bullying and hatred LGBTQ+ people face, part of me would want to-not because there's anything wrong with being LGBTQ+, but because nobody should have to endure hatred for something they didn't choose.

If same-sex attraction were simply a choice, why would someone willingly choose a life where they risk rejection, bullying, discrimination, and being told they're going to Hell?
Why should anyone have to be "rewired" just to make others comfortable?
I believe love is about two souls connecting-not the sex or gender of the people involved. If two people genuinely love, respect, and support each other, why should their genders matter more than their hearts?
The God I believe in asks us to love our neighbors, show compassion, and treat people with dignity.
Love is love. Let people be themselves. Let people love.
