I think a lot about how little bill probably knew about the third dimension when he destroyed his world trying to reach it. Its not like flatland where he had a guide he just had his sight to go off of to judge that it was there. He seemed to understand the z axis at least according to tbob but he would have been just making up words for what he saw probably. Do you think he was confused at first why he wasnt surrounded by stars because he didnt understand they’re super far away and just really bright? Do you think he imagined he could touch them? Do you think he wondered if they were alive
          
          The whole multiverse including bill himself sees the 2nd dimension incident as some malevolent genocide by a vengeful and omniscient god but in all likelihood he didnt even know what a sphere was when he did it

Bill is egotistical but he’s also a sham and desperate to be seen as an all powerful and all knowing god. I imagine its hard to think of yourself as a god when your subjects are from a ‘higher’ plane of reality than you. To bills people ford would have been an incomprehensible eldrich god just on account of existing. He’s probably really insecure about that (bc if tbob proved anything its that hes insecure abt a lot of things)

I dont think i’ve ever seen anyone else write him like this but i got the vibe from the little he talks about it in the show that bill is self hating to some degree about being 2 dimensional. Him using the word flat to insult his homeland and people could just be representative of him feeling constricted by the limited movement but considering its in the SAME scene he shows ford his ‘multi dimensional makeover’ where he made himself a pyramid. Bill cipher, the king of ego, changed his appearance and it was to make himself 3d. Also the wording in that one how to draw short where he says the paper is flat but that the ARTIST has ‘all sorts of dimensions’. Not ‘your WORLD has more dimensions’ but ‘you’

Matpat retiring is one of the biggest tragedies of a generation. He’s been more of a reliable presence in my life than my father. I havent even watched game theory in like 7 years but he was always There on the other corner of the internet like a stray cat you sometimes see. World feels so empty without him… its like he died
