Here's a tip from me if you're writing a story:
End the story when the drama is over, don't drag on the story, because not many people are going to be interested in a 3 chapter long, mushy, gushy, happy ending. As a reader, I like a book that keeps me intrigued until the very last page, leaving me with burning questions even if there's no sequel. I'd like it to still hold me down when it ends, but not set me free. Can you see the difference? It's what makes a story good and the other one great.
