          	(Pt. 4)

After the epilogue and reflecting on the book entirely, I just knewwwww Reign was too far gone and in love with King to give up that easily in the visitation room and even if my assumptions didn’t happen in that exact order I don’t doubt that Reign really wanted to be with King and was willing to show him that during and/or after jail.

I feel for Reign because he only saw himself with King after all he went through, with and before King. To put himself outside of his self, trying to save King the heartache of yearning for somebody who may never make it out or may never make it out the same person they were when they went in. But whole time while he’s yearning for King, King is creating and settling for a life HE doesn’t even want. A wife, a daughter. A legacy. All to forget Reign. Backwards!!

This shitt is breaking my heart, broke my heart. And me being an empath I feel for King as well. That a dumb ass mistake led to so much shitt. That the only way he thought to cope with this whole thing was to forget and rebuild. But again it takes a real man to own up to his shitt and make it right. He should have fought for Reign and atleast gone to see him to see if they really did have a love that could last through all of that. End of discussion!

          	End of rant. For now!

Also Author, Aziel is exactly who and what Reign needs. He’s stern but gentle. Showing us this far the he’s loving but can still handle all of Reign’s moods if/ when he needs to. And he adores Reign in a way that I can tell is bordering along the lines of a cute obsession lol. Just by the way he couldn’t keep his eyes off of Reign when he first saw him, and with no shame either lol. If they ain’t soulmates, I don’t know who is! So many things just naturally align for them it’s crazy. I don’t think they could avoid each other even if they wanted to.

@Jadore_Moi YAAASSSSSSS Author! I’m glad I’m not alone in understanding and sympathizing with them both. They were both still kids, forced to handle the consequences of adult-like actions and decisions. And when you think about it outside of how bad it hurts you realize that neither of them were set up to really win. With Reigns past before King and with King past before Reign it was bound to be a lot of trauma thrown somewhere in the mix. I just hope that Reign is able to seek the help he needs and with Aziel being a GROWN man like you said lol, I feel a bit better in knowing that Aziel hopefully will not enable Reign’s toxic behavior. And hopefully Reign won’t bleed over everything good that wants to see him do better! Life already took so much from him, I want him to really heal, for real. All the way through and not just on the surface. Because he deserves that and much more! He really does deserve to be happy and finally have the happily ever after that so many of the people around him have been able to. Not just the materialistic things and the success but a love that reciprocates. ❤️❤️❤️

@BlueberryPimp Reign was hoping a little that King would fight back and not listen to him but also we have to remember that King also thought he was protecting Reign. Reign was in danger and King went to his brother for help and the only way Q would help protect Reign was if King left the state (he didn't have to stop contact thought). They both were young and trying to protect the other.

(Pt. 3) Reign even expected LETTERS from King, DID ANYBODY CATCH THAT SHITT OR JUST ME? meaning somewhere along the lines Reign was expecting King to pull through and choose him in spite of knowing that he was also supposed to be King’s end all be all. Knowing now, after hearing Reign’s honest thoughts, he didn’t want to be the reason King put his life on hold but he still expected their love to be strong enough that King would come around regardless of the distance he felt they needed because that’s what he was doing for King, by taking his charge and doing King’s time. He was showing King that no matter what, he’ll always have his back and in return he expected the same and without hesitation. He was overwhelmed. obviously. And still found a way to feel guilty if King were to wait for him, which is why he asked for space initially. Thinking of them both, once again. But of course he still loved King and still wanted him close. Conflicted but ultimately he expected them to be endgame, like anyone naturally would when you claim to love each other. But I think what broke me forreal was how Reign had been thinking about the both of them this whole time, while King’s actions only showed that he’d been thinking about himself even if deep down I know it’s more to it. But ultimately Reign wasn’t enough for him to do right by. Which makes me more emotional because even through all of that, the baby shower, the dinner, Reign still showed restraint. His actions would be justified if he were to do something crazy, but he internalizes instead of lashing out towards King.

That ‘If you love me, then let me go!! Bruhhhh. Then King really let him go!!!! Mannnnnn. Both had me emotional. To yearn for someone like Reign after all those years. To see what you reduced them to, just to want to love them again. Dreaming about them in a life YOU built just for them not to choose you. That shitt gotta hurt.

@Jadore_Moi I am the same way!! Always overthinking every little thing and automatically assuming others won’t be able to understand how I do things or why. But I’m telling you, it’s all there. Even when you hint at things or don’t say them at all, those of us who read because we love to will definitely understand. What I don’t understand though is why the engagement isn’t through the roof and I’m not being funny I’m being deadass lol. You have the kind of writing that keeps me on this app. It definitely has dimension, depth, and meaning. All I ask is that if you ever leave this app PLEASSSEEEEE take me with you lol. I’ll support you wherever you go!! Seriously lol! ❤️❤️❤️

I tend to overthink when I am writing because I want it to be perfect and I always hope I am conveying my thoughts into these updates. Hearing your perspective makes me feel like I am doing exactly that. It honestly keeps me going and wanting to continue pushing these stories out. I appreciate you more than you know!

@BlueberryPimp I got the notification for this while I was at work and I read it on my break but I wanted to wait until I was home before responding. First, this response to my writing is more than I could ever ask for. I loved reading everything you wrote because it is really exactly what you said. One thing I hope readers realized in Love, Summer is that Reign was literally 19-years old and did not have the tools or capacity to communicate his feelings to KIng. So while he was pushing him away and telling King to go live his life, what Reign really thought he was doing was protecting King and pushing him to continue his dream. Reign had just been given 10 years in prison and did not even know if he would survive in there, so he thought he was protecting King from the heartache of him not making it. However, as time goes on and King never reached out, Reign starts to build some resentment but inside he can't really focus on that because again, he's just trying to survive. Reign did not want King to put his life on hold but he also didn't expect him to get married and start a family. In Reign's mind he felt King was his person and if it was meant to be then they would find their way back to each other. The Baby shower scene Reign had realized that King has moved on and there really was nothing he could do but wish him the best despite his own feelings because that's just how Reign is. What sets him off in Sincerely, Winter is the audacity of King. Because all this time has past while he was in prison without a letter, a phone call, nothing but King wants to choose now to express feelings. It's almost like a wound that hasn't healed and someone sticks it making it bleed all over again like just leave me alone and let me heal. Reign does internalize a lot and then it just comes out as anger and he breaks down when it's too much (we are going to work on that too). I think that scene between King and Reign needed to happen because Reign needed to get that out.

(Pt. 2) King was supposed to reassure Reign that their love was strong enough to withstand HIS OWN mistakes. Which was why I felt so gutted after jumping back into Reigns Pov without knowing what all had happened between his time in jail and where we are now. Reign reducing their whole relationship to being the biggest mistake he’s ever made in his life. Because loving and putting his trust in a man allowed him to rot in jail alone for a crime he never committed. To refer to King as just another ‘nigga’ lawwdddddd!!!! Talk about crine, snotting and sliding down the wall!

Wheeeewww, to read their love story and everything they’ve been through just to have it all reduced to that, had me ready to bawl my eyes out not gone lie. Good writing Author!!! I don’t wanna read anything easy and predictable. The small crumbs we get from Reign’s past is just enough to have my heart hurting. It’s crazy how the book just gets better and better. The plot, the emotion, the connection to the characters. I’m invested so damn much I be scaring myself sometimes lol. Anyways…….

          There’s more…

@Jadore_Moi My comment for Sincerely, Winter Chapter 9 wouldn’t post so I figured I should post it here because I NEEEEEED to rant:

IF YOU HAVEN’T FINISHED READING Love, Summer PLEASE FINISH READING IT BEFORE READING MY RANT. Viewers Discretion has been Advised lol!!

          Action:

I had so many questions when it came to King and Reign at the end of Love,Summer. I still do, but to stay focused, before reading the epilogue I always thought Reign still expected them to be together even after pushing King away to the point that his request wasn’t really supposed to mean anything. Which I know now that I was right to believe after reading Chapter 9 and having it confirmed through context (I think lol). Connecting my hypothesis- After reading the epilogue for the first time with no real context, I figured that final goodbye was what Reign really wanted regardless of what his real desires were, that maybe time apart did force them together in a way that both of them could look back on what they had as something small and insignificant. And I was willing to continue my life after Love, Summer knowing that to be true lol. But now that I’m reading on and getting better clarity, I see now that Reign expected King to show him some sort of loyalty not only because it made more sense to the love they were ‘supposed’ to have and express to one another but because King was supposed to thug it out and stand in the paint for Reign like he promised and like Reign had expected him to but without having to tell him to. Because— like we all would’ve hoped— they were supposed to have a love strong enough to withstand the hard stuff.

          Wait there’s more……..

This book will take you up and through there. But in a good way of course. Written by the same Author as “I’ll Ride For You, Homie and I’ll Die For You, Homie.” I took this one up right after reading the two previously mentioned. The main characters reminded me so much of characters from some of my favorite books. Making it so much easier for me to fall in love with them. The journey that each character went on will make you question their intellect at times but also appreciate them for being authentically them. You fall in love with their strong connection with one another and how well they balance each other out. While loving the things that make them different. This book is one that makes the reader yearn for the strong connection they have while also screaming at them through the phone. It is a book that you won’t be able to put down. As I’m writing this review, the book hasn’t yet been completed so we are still on this ride. But I’m glad to add it to my list alongside the rest of the greats. 100/10. Fasho ya right on!

Now this right here will have you calling into work because you just can’t seem to put the shitt down. This was one of the first black gay literature books I’ve read, ever. And this was one of the first books that gave me back that OG Wattpad nostalgic reading experience. The way this Author can describe some shitt will make you feel like you’ve entered the books to become a fly on the wall. I love when books are set in the past mainly because you have to be a great writer to have readers be able to follow along during a time they may not have been alive to witness. The Author does a great job of bringing everything to life. The way the Author describes each character will make you fall in love. Almost mad that the characters aren’t real people. It’s easy to read, understand, and follow along through. The dialogue between the main characters will have you falling in love. These books definitely hold a special place in my heart. I definitely recommend. 100/10. Best of the best. Cream of the crop.

Peak in my Essence By Author @yjabamii

This book is one of the best slow burns to ever do it. It allows the reader to truly get to know and understand both characters and why they move the way they do. The journey to trusting one another is one that will have you biting your nails but the slow progression makes you crack a smile. I really love how the Author takes their time describing everything in the book. From the events taking place down to the characters and the clothes they may be wearing. Everything seems to be written and acknowledged for a reason. Some times to add more dimension to each character and other times to help you follow along. The way you seem to appreciate the connection between the characters as their encounters increase allows for a smooth read. And when the tension starts to tension you don’t want to put your phone down. Each time it seems like the characters dish out small rewards for our patience with them working towards building a connection. I’m excited to see what all this Author will put us through. Definitely 100/10. It’s a read you’ll definitely enjoy.

These books seem to have a little bit of everything. I really love how you get a glimpse into the lives of so many different people all battling different things. The Author does an amazing job of shifting between all the different characters in the book so you’ll get a healthy portion of perspectives throughout. I loved how the book flowed as if you were watching a movie. Everything written felt relevant to the story, the progression of the book, and the development of each character. There are so many funny moments in both books and other times I had to stare at my phone like, “I know this nigga ain’t just say what I think he said.” This was one of the first books I’ve read where autism wasn’t just mentioned but many of its aspects were explained. And it was very individualized in the sense that what you may know about autism may not pertain to every single individual with autism. It also was a nice reminder to see how everybody’s differences make them unique which in turn makes it easier for everybody to coexist. It was refreshing to read something so colorful. So many things I had been educated on and so many perspectives I was willing to acknowledge. It is definitely one of them ones. 100/10. Definitely recommend.

King and Him By Author @TEMPTTED

Baby, they don’t make em like King no more. The way the story escalated and the action field ride it took you on was so addicting. It had me on the edge not wanting to put my phone down. The topics discussed in the book helped to give voice to things that may not be a part of everyones reality, but are important when discussing change, equality, and unity. The perspectives from which each topic is discussed help the reader understand each argument no matter what side they may have been on prior. The way each character developed for the better made you wish you were them. The way the Author builds up the tension between the characters was so refreshing. It wasn’t rushed and it made each moment they shared more meaningful. It was moments in the book that made you scared to swipe over to the next page in fear of not knowing what could happen. But it added to all the excitement. And the way the characters defied society's norms in their own special way was so empowering. I would love to read more of them as well. 100/10 This book will definitely hold a special place in your heart. Makes you want to ask your partners, “Why can’t you be more like King?”
