A Tolkien fan for over four decades, COVID has given me time to write. I am hoping to put out a chapter a week telling a story based in Middle Earth in the years between the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. Some recognizable names will make appearances, but the lead characters will be original. I will make every effort to use the extensive etymology and background laid down by JRR, but a few changes will be made for the sake of a good story (Elves will get an update. Really? They lose interest in sex after the birth of a child? So it's an immortality of holding hands and good conversation then).

I really have only a slight idea where this tale is going, so I guess we'll both find out together.
