Hello. Today's question of the day is: Which quote do you resonate with more?
"The pen is mightier than the sword."
"Actions weigh heavier than words."
Both are contradictory quotes, and I thought I would like to hear your opinions.
Both have significance in their respective uses. If you can solve a war with a peace treaty, why go through the trouble of a war? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's how wars work: one side wants something and chooses violence to get it. My history knowledge is rusty. In this case, the first quote applies. But what if someone's hurt beyond repair? Is a simple sorry or an apology note enough? This begs the attention of the second quote. In Case 2, actions hold much more weight than a few flimsy words or a piece of paper with writing on it.
What's your take? In my honest opinion, both share significance that cannot be compared.
P.S. I was just feeling the slightest bit philosophical today, I suppose.
