I've seen the tags for Boris x Theo
And yes
I see them together in a far future after the book
But they weren't in some deep love that like... healthy?
Obviously boris had nothing left so Theo actually sticking with him made him project his own feelings to him, making it basically a romance
Which I'm not saying it was
On page 300, it's basically a whole page of theo thinking of the little things boris has done with him. When he laid his arm around his waist in bed, and pulled him close, speaking incessant nothings in his ear, and how when he woke up terrified, Boris wouldn't even be angry for waking him, he would just keep him close til he fell back asleep
Yes, Theo did also say that when they we're fucked up, be as he said 'Grappling around half-dressed' and that it was a bit bothering, and he couldnt remember much of it.
Then to carry on, when Boris was seeing Kotku, he sincerely missed boris, and all of his stupid quirks.
And yes, I solely believe that Boris kissed Theo before he left, just to try and get him to stay so he could put the painting back. Maybe he did put some feeling into it, but that's never really told.
I doubt donna wrote it in the intention of boris and Theo being some long term romance
Though, it could work in fans favor, cause God knows we are good at twisting things.
Anyway.
I'm just putting my opinion out that Boris and Theo were lonely, nothing to lose, 15 year olds that stuck so close that they could have been a romance. But if I know anything from my own life, I know that sometimes if two fucked up drug addicts stick together, it can seem like love.

I seriously suggest reading the book, it's a long 700 pages but it is so well written
