The plot for nova was originally gonna be used on faded echoes which is why Travis is in the hospital in both books atm but I was like nah this girl has been pregnant ENOUGH
@BraedenLee Braeden if u saw my comment on faded echoes here’s the follow up lol: Elise is brought to the ER with a high fever and severe earache, symptoms of the flu by the babysitter. The doctors suspect an ear infection and find fluid in her ears, which may have been affecting her hearing. They perform a procedure to drain the fluid, relieving her pain. Afterward, Elise’s hearing improves dramatically, and the doctors confirm that her deafness was caused by the fluid buildup, not permanent damage. The fluid was likely blocking her cochlear implant, and now, with the pressure relieved, Elise’s hearing is restored, meaning she no longer needs the implant. While playing on a swing with Joy, Elise is pushed too hard and falls, breaking her arm. The babysitter takes her to the ER and at the ER, the doctors examine her arm and notice that her hearing seems worse than usual. Upon further examination, they discover that Elise has otosclerosis, a condition where abnormal bone growth in the ear affects hearing. It had likely been unnoticed before and is contributing to her hearing loss. The doctors suggest a minor surgical procedure to address the otosclerosis and restore her hearing. After the procedure, Elise’s hearing improves significantly, and she no longer needs the cochlear implant, as the condition was treatable and reversible.
